These books are made with paper and, while they have been sprayed with sealer to help them last longer, this DOES NOT make them WATERPROOF. However, for your own health and safety, we encourage you to clean the metal hooks of the earrings before each use MOST IMPORTANTLY the first use.
You can do this with warm, soapy water and a clean cloth/paper towel and gently rubbing the hook. Make sure the hook is completely dry before wearing.
